Seminar III: Brussles

April 15, 2012
Oh yeah, Jugendstil tour of Brussels architecture. I guess we're just that cool.

We had a super passive-aggressive tour guide, too. We were running late and apparently the tour guide had not been informed by the responsible people. The result was a grumpy British man who refused to start the tour until two people in our group put their food away and accusingly said he was "worried" something had happened to us on the way over because we had not told him we would be so late. Then he mumbled his way through the first few houses until our extremely intelligent and interesting questions won him over again. Talk about awkward.

And for contrast, the rest of Brussels:

Bruges

Sorry for the delay in posts, Blogger was having a freak-out (it actually wasn't my fault this time!)

Seminar III took us to Brussels, Strasbourg and Paris, and I took the opportunity to visit the delightful Leila for a weekend in Brussels. After sleeping in late we rushed to the train and made an eventful day-trip to Bruges...

A modern take on the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus outside an older church

Flea market on the canal

British stag party. Because you know, no trip is complete without one.

Visit to a brewery. Because you know, no trip is complete without one.

As Leila put it, "yeah, it's a thing here"
